Today was my 1st session for 2010. Oh boy it was a fun one! My good friend and owner/designer of Stinkerbell Accessories brought her children for a visit. It was fun going thru all her product offerings (she has a TON) and also get a peek of her new stuff. There is even one inspired by Splendid Photography :)   Here are some photos from the session. Make sure to check out Stinkerbell Accessories!

I present to you the last session of the year and it was sure a challenge. I know I have said this before but by far 18 mos is a hard age. Most kids do not like getting their picture taken.  They are mobile, starting to get independent and know what that big boxy thing is that woman is holding in front of her face. Alas I do get some good shot when they least expect it. Yes there might be a car, doll, block or even a cellphone in hand but when you see their pics all you see is the innocence in their eyes.

Where has 2009 gone? The time for this year to end is coming quickly upon us. I honestly think this was the fastest year of my life. I know they say when you get older you life goes by faster but this is unreal. I feel like someone just put this year on hyper speed. Well I guess there is no point in dwelling on it so I will just continue to look forward to what 2010 will bring.

I first want to take the time to thank all my clients for a fantastic 2009.  It started off slow as I was on maternity leave for a great part of the year, but was glad to get back to what I love the best. It was good to see repeat clients and some new faces. Thank you again for your business.

Second, keep on the look out for a new post (after the holidays of course) on some new pricing. Times are tough, we all know that. I want to still be able to provide the services I currently do but at a more affordable rate for the rest of you. So starting in 2010 there will be some decreases. Make sure to check the blog for what those decreases and additions will be.. Hip Hip Hooray :)

Third, I wanted to share a picture that I took for our holiday cards this year. I have seen this done and always loved the effect. I finally had the opportunity to try this with my own children. I’m pleased with the results. Take a look!

Wow what an action packed weekend. This Sat we celebrate my son’s 1st birthday. It is unbelievable that a year has passed. He is now officially a toddler and no longer a baby even though he will always be my baby. :)

Add in 2 sessions on top of all that and I’m sure you get the drift of how busy I was. I wouldn’t change anything. Both sessions were fantastic. As I was going through the photos to post for a sneak peek, I had a hard time just picking a few to edit. Oh and of course wouldn’t you know my card reader bit the dust so I had to make a late night run to Target to get a new one. So sorry for the delay…without further ado here is a sneak peek.

This lovely family won a session with me from a local school fundraiser! Thank you :)

Whew, I hope you all had a great holiday! It has been pretty busy over here. We get bombarded with not only holiday festivities, but birthdays too. Trying to find time to do it all has been pretty challenging. Everyone that has currently booked a session with me will have their photos before Christmas. Anyone else that still wants to take advantage of the $79 deal there are only 1-2 spots open.

Now on to The B Family!

My current in home studio has only been used for kids and one parent. I haven’t had the chance to use it for a family session. I will be honest, posing is not my strong point. I do know what looks well in photos and that is what I rely on. I rather just capture my subjects as they are with very minimal guidance. So working with families challenge me more than working with toddlers. It also challenged me when we decided to have a session at my studio. I want to thank The B Family for being my guinea pigs for the day :) We had a lot of laughs and a lot of fun! I hope you like your sneak peek.

America’s Next Top Model was happening right in my own studio this morning. I had the pleasure of having a session with Miss V. She really knew how to work the camera. I love when kids get into sessions. Miss V was so into taking pictures that she didn’t want to leave. Honestly most kids that come to my studio don’t want to leave. I take that as a huge compliment :)

Mom and Dad here is your sneak peek. It was hard to narrow down just a few images to post but here we go….

My kiddos-Kenosha,WI/NW IL Photographer

Believe it or not, I have a hard time getting a good pictures of my kids. For whatever reason they run the other way or bury their face when they see the camera come out. It is not like I tramatized them from birth with taking too many pics but they make it seem that way. With the holiday fast approaching I thought that I should start getting them ready for the dreaded holiday card photo.

Shopping Cart-Kenosha,WI/NW IL Photographer

Posted on November 11, 2009

I just finish working on the proofing/shopping cart section. I’m very excited to have a friend test it out for me. Right now it seems to work well but I want to make sure that it is very user friend and easy to navigate.

You will have the choice of adding images as favorite to later add to the cart or immediately add images to a cart. The option to pick up or ship to your home is available too.

Paying has gotten even easier. Paypal will be accepted straight from the ordering menu. This makes it nice and convenient for having other family/friends order. You won’t have to deal with money or distribution to others.

Last but not least, every gallery will have a time limit in which it will be up for viewing. Please keep in mind that you will have 2 weeks to place in order before the gallery is deleted. A charge of $25 will be added if the gallery has to be reloaded again on my server.
